Myles Lewis (Owner)
Myles Lewis moved from the midwest to the Tahoe area in 2002 looking to embrace that mountain life-style and pursue his passion for snowboarding. A long time fitness enthusiast, Myles has been working out since he was 16. He began his personal training career in 2006, constantly in search of exercise techniques that inspire and motivate. Myles discovered CrossFit in 2008. He was blown away by the effect it had on him and his snowboarding performance. CrossFit was the technique he'd been searching for. He became a CrossFit coach shortly after, and has been addicted ever since.
When he's not working out or training others, you can find him with his wife, Erin chasing their 2 children, Maverick and Magnolia...or wrestling bears, yetis and mountain lions. Now quit reading about Myles and get to the gym for the WOD!

Aside from some time spent abroad in Europe and New Zealand in his early 20s, Kyle has lived in Tahoe his entire life. While Kyle has always been active, some of his early choices were not the healthiest. As Kyle got older and wiser, he started to realize that health and fitness opened a lot more doors than sitting on a bar stool.
Kyle first started CrossFit in 2009 to improve his fitness for dirt bike racing. While his initial goal was to beat guys in the dirt, he found a whole new world of competition in CrossFit. It wasn't long before Kyle was hooked. He obtained his Level 1 Certificate in 2010 and began training others and sharing his passion for fitness. CrossFit also led to Kyle's involvement with the Tough Mudder community, where his alter ego, Coach T Mud, helps participants warm up and prepare for Tough Mudder events.
Kyle takes his coaching seriously, but will always jump at the chance to poke fun at himself for a laugh. He believes every CrossFit class should be a mix of hard work, good laughs, and personal growth.

Alison Hardy, a born and raised Tahoe local, has been seeking adventure since she was young. Her family raised her climbing, skiing, hiking, back packing and swimming in these great Sierra Nevada Mountains. Her love for sport has always been strong. In her twenties, she was an avid snowboarder competing throughout the Western States in Slopestyle. With many years of hucking her meat, she attained many injuries, thus leading her to the doors of CrossFit Avalanche.
Alison found CrossFit Avalanche in 2011. Since then Alison has made amazing major changes in her life. CrossFit has provided her the avenue to make conscious choices towards a more healthy, active lifestyle, and has played a huge part of her rehabilitation after knee surgery. One thing she has taken away from these last few years of training and coaching is that no matter who you are, if you show up and put in the work, you will succeed at whatever you put your mind to. Everyday is our gift to explore our true brut strength!

Andrew Sullivan, better known as Sully, moved to the Lake Tahoe area 11 years ago to become a Ski Patroller at Northstar. Through his years in Tahoe, he’s had a multitude of adventurous job titles, including Helitack Fire Fighter, Ski Patroller, Bike Patroller, Trail Crew Manager for the Northstar Bike Park, Terrain Park Snow Cat Operator, and Commercial Diver. His most recent title is CrossFit Coach.
Prior to joining CrossFit, Sully experienced lots of pain in his knee and never felt confident in his back, due to previous surgeries. He started CrossFit about 2 years ago, looking to gain strength and to properly condition his body. Now, thanks to CrossFit, he’s happy to report that his body is in great physical condition and he hasn’t had a back issue whatsoever.
Sully joined our Avalanche coaching team in December 2017, where he has been helping others to reach their bodies’ potential and reap the benefits of CrossFit.

Beth Hill grew up in Arizona but has lived in Tahoe for over 11 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Arizona State (Go Sun Devils!) in 2003 and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Sierra Nevada College in 2009. Shortly after finishing graduate school, Beth married Jeff Hill and they began to start a family! Fast-forward with a blink of an eye…Beth now has two energetic, incredible little girls Hannah and Harper. Her full-time job is definitely “mommy”!
Beth has loved all things athletic since she was young. Growing up, she participated in soccer, softball, track and field, and cheerleading. She found CrossFit in 2010 with hopes to get in shape for her upcoming wedding. Little did she know how life changing, both physically and mentally, this CrossFit community would be. Beth fell in love with the idea of pushing herself beyond her perceived limits EVERY time she walked in the gym. Whether she was doing preggy burpees, fighting to lose the baby weight or just plain blowing off steam to keep her sanity with the ups and downs life throws at you…she highly values the importance of consistent hard work and dedication. This was her driving force in taking her passion for fitness a step further with the decision to obtain her Level 1 certificate in April of 2018. Beth’s goal is to encourage and inspire others to fiercely work hard and fight for positive mental/physical results. And to have a dang good time while doing it! She is honored to be a small part of big changes for those that she gets to work with.

Originally his goal was to get in better physical condition to prepare for the many sports and activities he participates in. Very soon, he realized the real enjoyment and motivation of his CrossFit Avalanche experience are the friends and community he gets to be part of, all while getting stronger, better at skills, and moves, and reveling in obtained success. As a coach, Dan enjoys helping others improve, succeed and discover what motivates them to be stronger, healthier, and continue to be part of our community.
